AbleRise Africa Society Logo Our main areas of focus is  to serve the broader community of persons with disabilities, with specific programs and advocacy priorities directed toward  youth, women, and those with less spoken disabilities like cerebral palsy. For example, this type of disability is easily misunderstood, stereotyped, and face more sets of discrimination and societal exclusion compared to other forms of disabilities.
Our main areas of focus is  to serve the broader community of persons with disabilities, with specific programs and advocacy priorities directed toward  youth, women, and those with less spoken disabilities like cerebral palsy. As such, we strive to champion the implementation of inclusive policies and programs that are focused on ensuring the well-being and welfare of all persons with disabilities.

Our Core Activities

As AbleRise Africa Society we translate our mission into action through four integrated pillars, reflecting the central role of persons with disabilities:

Pillar 1: Rights Advocacy & Policy Reform

  • Leading campaigns and leveraging lived experience to challenge discrimination and exclusion within the society and disability community.
  • Actively engaging with government and systemic stakeholders to influence and implement inclusive policies and structural changes related to healthcare, education, and access for all persons with disabilities.
  • Prioritizing the intersectional rights of women and girls with disabilities, addressing issues like Gender-Based Violence and equitable healthcare access.

Pillar 2: Information Dissemination & Awareness

  •  Serving as a reliable source of information on disability rights, services, myths, and realities, particularly concerning Cerebral Palsy.
  • Developing and sharing resources (blogs, social media content, campaigns) to raise public consciousness and combat stigma.

Pillar 3: Grassroots Empowerment & Peer Support

  • Creating and facilitating programs that equip youth, women with disabilities with the skills and confidence necessary for self-reliance and independence.
  • Fostering a supportive network for persons with disabilities to share experiences and receive peer mentorship - this may also include caregivers and other specific groups

Pillar 4: Strategic Partnerships & Research

Collaborating with other non-profits, healthcare providers, and research institutions to amplify impact.

Bridging grassroots experiences with systemic research to provide authentic and data-informed leverage for change.

#16DaysOfActivism: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women with Disabilities

AbleRise Africa Society  joined the global community for the #16DaysofActivism2025 campaign by shedding light on a critical, often-overlooked issue: the intersection of  obstetric justice  and  digital safety for women with disabilities . Violence against women and girls is a global human rights emergency, and for those with disabilities, the vulnerabilities are magnified both offline and in digital spaces.  We shared powerful stories and key issues that many women with disabilities face, from mistreatment during childbirth to online harassment that threatens their physical and mental safety.  This year's theme is a powerful call to action: UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against Women with Disabilities.  For more information about the #16DaysofActivism, Scroll up to see our educational posters for in-depth information and join the conversation.
